Who am I? My name is Mark. I grew up in Walnut Creek, spent part of high school in Afghanistan, and later attended Antioch College in Ohio. After graduation, I lived in New York City for 10 years as a musician, then worked four years in Oregon’s high desert in the lumber industry before returning to the Bay Area in 1989. I then worked in a family property management business for over 30 years before retiring last year. I moved to the Sonoma Valley in 2003 and now live at and own an organic vegetable farm supplying the Sonoma Friday Farmers Market and local restaurants.

Music is still central to my life—I’ve sung for the past 13 years with a five-man/one guitar group that performs in Sonoma at Murphy’s Irish Pub and other local venues. I’m also physically active, walking 3–4 miles at a time as well as doing Pilates several times a week. Last but not least, for more than 30 years I’ve engaged in Formative Psychology as a way to deepen self-awareness and well-being.

In short, I’m a Renaissance man with wide-ranging interests and I see no reason to slow down now that I’m in my 70’s!

What do I want? I find myself more and more interested in engaging with a variety of people, expanding my circle of acquaintances, and my experience of feeling alive and vibrant. I’d like to hear your story, how you came to be who you are now, and where you see yourself going in the next 5-10 years.
